Since joining the Heat in 2021, Kyle Lowry has been branded "washed." At 37, Lowry is a key reserve for Miami in the 2023 NBA playoffs.
The Heat are close to returning to the NBA Finals after four years. Lowry may not have played in the 2020 Finals, but he still brings championship experience to the Heat.
As Kawhi Leonard's backup, Lowry helped the Toronto Raptors win the 2019 NBA title. The title was Toronto's first.
After winning his first title with the Raptors, Lowry described the unique feeling: Lowry stated, "Words can't describe the feeling."
Toronto failed to win another championship or reach the Finals with Lowry. In 2021, he signed a sign-and-trade with Miami.
Last season, Lowry and the Heat were one game away from the NBA Finals. In the Eastern Conference finals, they lost in seven games to the Boston Celtics.
In this year's East finals, Lowry and the Heat have a chance to redeem themselves. Lowry will win his second NBA title in 17 seasons if they do.
If they can do so, and go on to win the 2023 NBA title, it will mark Lowry’s second championship in 17 seasons.
