Highly Anticipated DC Superhero Movie Cancelled by Warner Bros. An anticipated DCU superhero film doesn't seem to be happening anymore.

Previous ideas and projects by Warner Bros. have either changed or been abandoned in the wake of the Warner Bros.

Discovery merger, James Gunn and Peter Safran's DCU relaunch, and a run of feature office failures.

It was hoped that a particular DC superhero movie would endure production and management changes, but that no longer seems to be the case.

Chris McKay's Nightwing movie, a stand-alone tale based on Batman's former sidekick Dick Grayson, was shelved, according to Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap.

Gonzalez declared, in regard to McKay's Nightwing project, on X (formerly known as Twitter), "that project is dead.

In 2017, Chris McKay, who directed The Lego Batman Movie, was revealed as the director of Warner Bros.'s Dick Grayson superhero movie.

In a survey asking fans which DC heroes and villains they would most like to see, Nightwing came in at number ten with the most votes.

According to 2022 casting rumors, actor Dylan O'Brien was a candidate to play Dick Grayson.
