After making a "career-threatening" choice, Boris Becker sends Emma Raducanu a harsh warning.
Boris Becker has told Emma Raducanu that if she breaks up with her coach, Torben Beltz, it could be "career-threatening" for her.
The former world No. 1 thinks that the 19-year-old needs to find a teacher who can help her improve her game and stay away from the bad things that come with being famous.
Becker said, "I think it's an important choice for her to make. She needs to find someone who can help her improve her game and deal with the pressure and fame that come with being a pro tennis player."
After only five months together, Raducanu and Beltz broke up. People thought that Raducanu won the US Open in September 2021 because of the help he got from his German coach.
Since then, Raducanu has had trouble getting back to her old form, and she has only made it to the quarterfinals of one Grand Slam tournament.
Becker thinks Raducanu needs to find a teacher who can help her be more reliable.
He told her, "She needs to find someone who can help her play at a high level every week and be more consistent."
